Meet some American Nomad Vamps!

Toni Truck who will portray Mary was interviewed by Twilight Lexicon

She looks smoldering! I love it!

Q: There’s not a whole lot of information on your character in the books, so did you have any conversations with Stephenie [Meyer] or even with Melissa Rosenberg, or did you get to build a lot for yourself?

Toni: We did get to build a lot. I did pull Stephenie aside – I think a lot of us did – and Stephenie was, I mean, how rare to have contact with the writer right there every day with us, so it was such a treat. But she really gave us the freedom to create the characters that we needed to do the daily work, with the disclaimer that what we needed to do to get the work done may be different than what would possibly end up in like the ultimateTwilight Guide and stuff like that. So, she definitely prepared us for that, but she gave us the freedom … She told us what she had written and then gave us the freedom to do whatever we wanted to do, and I remember at the time when I spoke to her, she was like Edi Gathegi’s the perfect example because she had written pages and pages of his back-story, and he’s going to be really surprised when the Guide comes down. It’s totally different, but you know you kind of have to marry what’s written and then you have to do your job.

Q: What can you tell us about Mary, can you describe her?

Toni: Sure! The thing I loved most about Mary is it’s such a treat when you get introduced to all of these new vampires, and a majority of them are coming in pairs. You know, they’ve got their mates. And even though you have Peter and Charlotte within the nomad family, our coven is not really a coven. We don’t travel around together, we truly are nomadic. I love that Mary … comes of her own volition. She doesn’t have any real prior relationship, and when her job is done there … You know, she’s not going to come back for Christmas. That’s not Mary’s M.O. And the whole idea of this like family unit for Mary is really foreign. And so she truly is a nomad. She is a wanderer. She doesn’t need to sleep in the same bed every night. But you know she is one of their strongest friends so ended up valuable.

Q: Mary comes upon Randall – they’re not coming together, they kind of meet up – I’m curious will we get to see any of that, or is it kind of going to be you guys showing up together? Because you guys are nomads, you are generally on your own…

Toni: It’s so tricky, right? Because you guys have already read the books. So, there’s so much of that which is going to be interesting … what those tiny wonderful details that the people that are so intimate with the books are going to be looking for. I can’t really speak to what will ultimately end up in there, my guess is as good as yours really, so I guess we’ll just have to all wait and see together!

Erik Odom will portray American Nomad Vamp, Peter

Q: People love Peter, but they also love Peter with Charlotte. Their relationship’s really special, and I know that that’s something we hope to see on-screen, and I was wondering how far in advance did you meet Valorie [Curry], and you know make it into a rhythm with her and feel like you could portray that on-screen?

Erik:What was great about Valorie, even more so than a lot of the other vampires who I met once we went to Louisiana together, I actually – I didn’t know her personally, but we had a lot of mutual friends in Los Angeles – so through the small world of Facebook, we were able to link up after the whole casting announcement came up, and we actually grabbed lunch before we even started filming, before we left. So, we went to a place in L.A., sat down for about two hours, and after the initial twenty minutes of ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe I’m a part of this; Oh my God I can’t believe I’m a part of this!’ After twenty minutes of us geeking out together about how cool it was, we really dug in and talked about Peter and Charlotte’s relationship and their relationship to the other vampires. You know, because the covens are such an interesting thing, they call the nomads a coven but really it’s Peter and Charlotte versus the world. You know, so we talked about really diving into the relationship, back to Maria [in Eclipse] and back to the newborn army and their relationship with Alice and Jasper, and it was just nice that by the time we got to Louisiana together, we already had the seeds of this relationship planted, you know? It was really nice. I love Valorie.

For me, the best part of the Twilight movie franchise has been the soundtracks. Even my friends who aren't fans have come to realize, accept, and even love the incredible quality of the Twilight soundtracks. Yahoo released the track listing earlier this month and it looks like the tradition of indie music will continue in this last installment. Christina Perri returns, and Nikki Reed sings with her husband, Paul McDonald too!

1. Where I Come From — Passion Pit

2. Bittersweet — Ellie Goulding

3. The Forgotten — Green Day

4. Fire In The Water — Feist

5. Everything And Nothing — The Boom Circuits

6. The Antidote — St. Vincent

7. Speak Up — POP ETC

8. Heart of Stone — Iko

9. Cover Your Tracks — A Boy and His Kite

10. Ghosts — James Vincent McMorrow

11. All I’ve Ever Needed — Paul McDonald & Nikki Reed

12. New For You — Reeve Carney

13. A Thousand Years (Part Two) – Christina Perri

14. Plus Que Ma Prope Vie — Carter Burwell

Can't wait! The soundtrack is now available for pre-order and will be released on November 13, 2012.

And I suppose I'll end with a little bad news. BD2 will not be showing in IMAX theaters. This is most likely due to the fact that the new James Bond film has purchased the IMAX screens for two weeks in and November and right after that those screens will become occupied by The Hobbit. This leaves no monetary lucrative time for BD2 to fill thos screens. Sorry, Charlie! {Twilight Lexicon}

HOPE to see you guys next week with Twilight info!
