Not since 'Paint Your Wagon', has Clint Eastwood been so gun-ho on musicals (yes "gun" pun intended.  gun pun.)  After a few years of attempting to get a remake of 'A Star is Born' off the ground and hitting a brick wall due to casting, Eastwood doesn't want to waste his built-up musical mojo and is now rumoured to be circle a big screen adaptation of the Broadway smash 'Jersey Boys'.  Read more...


'G.I. JOE RETALIATION' SURPRISINGLY HITS, 'THE HOST' FLOPS

 

After a nearly one year delay due to 3D conversion (supposedly), the G.I. Joe sequel kicked off over Easter weekend to a surprisingly healthy $50 million+ 4-day take.  The massive opening weekend didn't match it's predecessor's 3-day but it was certainly enough to spark talk of a third movie already.  On the other end, Stephenie Meyer's Twilight goodwill wasn't enough to transfer to her only non-Twilight novel adaptation, 'The Host'.  The movie raked it around $11 million, which isn't even enough to break the top 5.  Not a good sign going forward...Read More...


PHIL RAMONE PASSES

The weekend started on a sad note.  A lot of people today may not know his name as he hasn't graced the productions of Katy Perry Ke$ha but legendary producer Phil Ramone has been turning the knobs for 5 decades now during his stellar career.  Ramone produced the liks of Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Paul Simon, Billy Joel and a slew of others before hanging up his hat.  Ramone was 79.  Read More...
