During a brief hiatus from Linkin Park, lead singer Chester Bennington is taking no time off, venturing off with his side project, Dead By Sunrise.  Joined by Ryan Shuck, Amir Derakh, Brandon Belsky, Elias Andra,  and Fu Valcic, we sat down with the group for a few short questions.

SHAKEFIRE: You will be making some bonus material available to fans.  Will that be accessible via a fan club or some other source?

DEAD BY SUNRISE: Both. Some will be available depending on which country the album is purchased in – and we always look after our fan club!

SF: You have done a number of covers in concert from The Cure to David Bowie, should we expect to see any studio versions see the light of day?

DBS: You never know really – of course we would like to record any of those classic songs out of sheer love for the song. It would be great to see what we could do with them in a studio setting – but new material always seems to have the highest priority.

SF: What is the inspiration behind the video for "Crawl Back In" with the mannequin parts, the desert, etc?

DBS: It fit the mood of the song, and we got to each perform individually in each shot.  The mannequins and the desert were a good backdrop for the song.
 
SF: The band has been through a few different names.  What made you settle on "Dead By Sunrise"?

DBS: We just went through a bunch of names, and it was the one that sounded the coolest.  It has a western theme to it that we liked (not country and western though!)
