We chat up Lovehatehere about tour life, Warped Tour and their new album, America Underwater, in stores September 29!

LOVEHATEHERO: Paris Bosserman (bass / backup vocals /sexy dance), Scott Gee (Drums)

SF: What drove you to reinvent your sound?
PARIS: We've all grown as musicians and wanted that to reflect in our writing style... our last albums are all amazing and original but we wanted to focus on each song to be cohesive so we focused on that more than just ripping guitar solos and intricate drums and vocals.  Our songs complement the vocals more and let the message shine through more.

SCOTT: Basically we wanted to get the songs stuck in the everyday music listener's head rather than explode your head with intricate parts than make other musicians think were awesome.

SF: How would you describe your new sound to your fans?
PARIS: Basically the last answer describes that haha but yeah.. we're the same band that we were.

SCOTT: But use our technical music ability as the cherry on top rather than the whole song being a shred fest.

SF: What was your inspiration behind the songs on your new album "America Underwater"?
PARIS: Our drummer Scott lost his home to a fire a few years back and I flew out to New Orleans and did volunteer work during Hurricane Katrina and we've all been affected with the things that have happened in our counrty and others so we wrote a sick song and Paris poured his heart out to reach everyone and have us all come together.. pretty poetic actually.

SF: Is there a story behind the title of the album?
PARIS: It was one of our strongest songs and the title really reached people so we made it the basis of our record..

SF: You are now on Warped Tour, how is that going?
PARIS: OMG! It's soooo amazing!  It gives us a chance to play to kids that have always known about us but never seen us live.  We try to meet every kid and make sure they go home with something from us whether it's a sticker, a poster signed, or just a great memory haha.

SF: Any tour stories you would like to share?
PARIS: Once in Brazil I got free dance lessons from the sexiest Brazalida ever! It was out of a movie, haha.  She just grabed me and we danced for like 30 minutes.

SF: Any special plans for the release of ³America Underwater²?
PARIS: we already filmed a music video with Spence Nicholson (Hollywood Undead, The Devil Wears Prada).  Great experience and you're gonna love it, haha.

SF: You are on tour a lot, what do you do when you have down time?
PARIS: Frisbee Golf! hahah and I'm kinda a movie buff so i watch movies as much as possible, haha
SCOTT: I'm a bro at Heart, I ride Dirt Bikes, Snowboard, and Train Mixed Martial Arts (UFC type stuff).
