Freedom Writers

Erin Gruwell is just starting off as a teacher and is placed in what is considered an “unteachable” class. The kids are more concerned with staying alive than their education and see Mrs. Gruwell as just another adult that makes promises that she can’t keep. But she is determined to become the one they trust and raises the money herself to take them on trips and buy them new school supplies. But it is not until she offers them the chance to let their voices be heard that she earns their respect.
