Gone Baby Gone

In Ben Affleck’s directorial debut, brother Casey Affleck and Ed Harris shine in some of the best acting by either in their career.  Despite a somewhat dragging storyline, the Dennis Lehane (Mystic River) story is very engaging.

QUALITY:
Dark, gritty and utterly depressing.  But, that is the way of the movie and how Affleck filmed it and it works well for this particular film.

OVERALL:
Until this year, Casey Affleck was certainly the more underrated actor of the two Afflecks and, apparently, Ben was underrated as a potential director.  Both brothers perform well in their respective roles and the future of both is shown well in this format.
