I’ve seen a few Woody Allen films in my time and a majority of them have to do with the realties of love with a twist of black comedy. You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger follows that suit. First off it’s a massive, mostly experienced cast of actors and actresses, and with Allen’s storytelling you are entertained throughout. Unfortunately for me right off the bat the whole grass is greener on the other side bit just didn’t work out as well as the execution would have hoped. Anthony Hopkins’ storyline is more clown like with Lucy Punch (Ella Enchanted, Dinner For Schmucks) playing a young call girl who Hopkins plans to marry. It’s a complete mismatch that misses the charm that the character would have had if it were played by a more engaging actress. Frieda Pinto’s performance seems narrowed down to her beauty and clichéd as this exotic erotic ideal fantasy, but its just written in that way and doesn’t exactly seem fair to what fa
