Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford Reunite for Indiana Jones Sequel in 2019

Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford are reuniting for a fifth Indiana Jones film, Walt Disney Studios has announced. The untitled sequel will be released on July 19, 2019. Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will return as producers as well.

“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,” said Alan Horn, Chairman, The Walt Disney Studios. “It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”

The four previous films in the franchise have totalled almost $2 billion globally. The last film in the franchise, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was released in 2008 and while it received lackluster reviews, it would go on to make more than $780 million at the box office.
