12 Days of The Walking Dead with Atlanta Movie Tours Includes Premiere Party and Zombie Bus Tour with Cooper Andrews

Fall is finally here and that means so is The Walking Dead! Season 8 of The Walking Dead premieres this Sunday, October 22nd, but local Atlanta fans can celebrate the return of the series early beginning this Thursday (that's tomorrow!) with Atlanta Movie Tours and their 12 Days of Walking Dead leading up to the biggest Walking Dead convention, Walker Stalker Con, next weekend.

The festivities kick off with Project Cosplay at Joystick Gamebar on Thursday. The event is hosted monthly by FanBolt and is basically Project Runway meets cosplay. The theme this month is The Walking Dead, of course, and three designers will have 45 minutes to create a costume based around the TV show from scratch. It's absolutely ridiculous and absolutely a blast as well so be sure to come out and have a good time. Details can be found on FanBolt's Facebook event page.

If you're looking for some place to watch the Season 8 premiere of The Walking Dead with a bunch of fans, Atlanta Movie Tours has got you covered. They are throwing a massive viewing party down at Meehan's Irish Pub at Atlantic Station beginning at 8:00pm. $30 gets you a ticket to the event which includes appetizers and dinner from a special menu put together specifically for the event. Speaking of food, The Walking Dead: Official Cookbook and Survival Guide author Lauren Wilson will be there to talk with fans about recreating some of the most iconic recipes from the show. There will also be a costume contest at 8:30pm where the winner will receive a AMT prize pack that includes two tour tickets and a t-shirt! Details can be found of Atlanta Movie Tours' website.

Things don't end once the premiere is over, though, because Atlanta Movie Tours is continuing the fun on Monday, October 23rd, with a fan meet up in Senoia, GA where The Walking Dead is filmed. Meet up with fellow convention-goers, take a walking tour, eat at Nic & Norman’s, shop at The Woodbury Shoppe and see the walls of Alexandria! You can even stop by The Waking Dead Cafe early Will Call to pick up your #WSCAtlanta badges and wristbands...and receive a 10% discount at The Woodbury Shop as a thank you! Who knows, maybe you'll even see a cast member out and about in the city. It's not entirely out of the question.

Then on Tuesday, October 24th, Atlanta Movie Tours is running a special tour that is hosted by actor Cooper Andrews, known for playing the loveable Kingdomer and Ezekiel's right-hand man, Jerry! Hand with Cooper as you and fellow fans travel to various Walking Dead filming locations for a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the show. I've been on one of the Big Zombie tours before and they are awesome so you're not going to want to miss this opportunity! Tickets are still available on the Atlanta Movie Tours website.

Everything then culminates with Walker Stalker Con next weekend from October 27th - 29th. The main cast including Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, Jeffrey Deam Morgan, and many more will all be on site throughout the weekend signing autographs, talking photos, and answers fan questions on panels. While Walker Stalker Con is a year-round event all over the world, WSC Atlanta is one of the best conventions to be at since the show films in GA. Some of this year's events include The Dead Truth: An Immersive Experience, Lady Lucille's Casino Night, and The Official #WSCAtlanta Party Traped: Gideon's Revenge. Of course, Atlanta Movie Tours will also be running tours all throughout the convention as well.

It's time to get excited because The Walking Dead has officially returned.
