Production Begins in Georgia on 'Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase'

Warner Bros. Pictures has announced that production has begun in Georgia in and around the city of Monroe on Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase. The film focuses on Nancy Drew, played by IT star Sophia Lillis, a smart high schooler with a penchant for keen observation and deduction, who stumbles upon the haunting of a local home. A bit of an outsider struggling to fit into her new surroundings, Nancy and her pals set out to solve the mystery, make new friends and establish their place in the community.

Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase is being directed by Katt Shea from a script written by Nina Fiore and John Herrera. It also stars Zoe Renee and Mackenzie Graham as Nancy Drew's BFFs, George and Bess. Laura Slade Wiggins stars as high school mean girl Helen who reluctantly joins Nancy in the hunt to solve the mystery. Sam Trammell plays Nancy’s father, Carson; with Linda Lavin as Flora, the owner of the haunted house; and Andrea Anders as Nancy’s Aunt Hannah.

It has been over 10 years since the character last appeared on the big screen in 2007's Nancy Drew, with Emma Roberts in the titular role. No release date has been set yet for Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase
