It looks like her experiences working on Sin City and Machete for Robert Rodriguez have convinced Jessica Alba to stay on his team: she’s signed on to the latest film in the Spy Kids series, now titled Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World. Despite its numerical title, the writer/director is planning the film as a reboot for the series, thanks largely to the fact that the original leads (Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara) might be able to fill the “spy” part but don’t exactly qualify as “kids” any more. Though according to the Heat Vision blog, chances are Rodriguez won’t forget them – they’ll likely to crop up alongside Antonio Banderas in smaller supporting roles. Alba, meanwhile, has been cast as a spy who “retired” to have a family, and will be the mother to a baby and two pre-teen step-kids who are the central heroes. They’ll be fighting the Time Keeper, who apparently wants to stop time. As you do. With Machete about to arrive in cinemas, Rodriguez is now free to really dig into work on the film, planning to kick off in Austin later next month.
