What?!  50 Cent. DeNiro. Whitaker.  The combination makes a winning theatrical performance. 

This movie was great.  It’s based on a group of 3 young boys who have found themselves on the wrong side of the law and in jail.  For reasons revealed later in the movie, a prominent attorney requests of the court that the 3 boys and also best friends are to be released under his care. 

Malo (50 Cent), Lucas (Ryan O’Nan) and A.D. (Malcolm Goodwin) have all been rescued from jail and are have now become actual police officers under the watching eyes of Lydia Vecchio (the attorneys widow).  After the 3 comrades have graduated from the Police Academy, they are paired up separately each with seasoned, veteran cops.  The movie entails what goes on as a rookie and being taught by the pros.  You will never guess the situations and twists and turns along the way of becoming a certified police officer?

Hands down, this movie was an unexpected sleeper.  It’s a must watch.
