Ghostbusters II

Movie
Studio(s):
Director(s):
Grade:
C+
Running Time:
1 Hour, 42 Minutes
THE MOVIE:
I think I liked this movie more than most people did but most people are, understandably, comparing it to the masterpiece of the original.  On it's own, it's a fantastically fun ride that stands on it's own as one of the best sequels of the 80s.

THE QUALITY:
Much like the 4K release of Ghostbusters, this one doesn't feel like an upgrade to the previously release Blu-Ray version.  The only thing different here is that I do feel there are a few more film scratches removed and the "Time is But a Window" feature feels like better quality than when it was originally included.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
Nothing new, unfortunately.  The Bobby Brown video isn't nearly as fun or nostalgic as the Ray Parker Jr. video and the retrospective is just as boring as the one included on the first movie's release.

OVERALL:
SLIGHTLY better upgrade to the Blu-Ray than the first movie is but still not enough to actually recommend upgrading your collection.  I don't feel like they actually put any money into this release other than making a new (poorly designed) packaging.  Just like the first, this is a release that is simply put out in order to be used as a promotional tool to counteract the bad publicity generated by the new remake.
