Grade:
A
Running Time:
187 minutes
VIA COMMENTARY:

The digitally-rendered 1933 NY is so detailed that it contained 90,000 separate buildings.

King Kong was one of the few movies I actually purchased on HD-DVD (remember that format back in the day?).  The movie, although long, is stunningly brilliant.

QUALITY:
Amazing.  The picture is crystal clear and the sound is shattering.

BONUS FEATURES:
Extended and normal versions of the movie, Commentary.

The bonus features are a bit lacking, although having the theatrical and extended version on one set is nice (and it's nice to finally get rid of that god-awful extended DVD case).  King Kong is a beautiful, sad and tragic movie and, although the acting isn't the best, the directing is astounding, much in the same way tha Titanic is.
