This film may be my favorite from the Coen Brothers thus far in their collective career. I say “may be” because when you’ve directed such masterpieces as Raising Arizona, Fargo, and The Big Lebowski (to name a few), it’s a tough call to figure out which one stands above the rest. Suffice it to say that I loved No Country For Old Men when it came out in theatres and it’s a blast to revisit on Blu-Ray. Beyond that, there’s not much else that I can say here in praise of the film that hasn’t already been said by those who are much more eloquent.

QUALITY:
Looks fantastic. The cinematography was one of the first things that grabbed my attention when I saw this in the theatre and it looks just as good on this edition. The colors are rich and warm, especially as the color palate of the film generally focuses on yellows, browns and deeper blues and reds. The sound is also terrific, with a very clean mix.

BONUS FEATURES:
Lots of bonus features to be found here, which is good, considering this is billed as a collector’s edition:

•    The making of No Country for Old Men
•    ABC "Popcorn" video
•    Channel 4 News Joel And Ethan Coen appearance
•    Lunch With David Poland  - IKLIPZ- Javier Bardem And Josh Brolin interview

•    Los Angeles Writers Guild of America Q & A Panel

•    EW.com “Just A Minute...With Javier Bardem”

All in all, this is a pretty solid release. A definite must-have if you don’t already own any of the other previous releases.
