Pirate Radio (BLU-RAY)

Pirate Radio

On Blu-Ray:
Tuesday, April 13, 2010
Running Time:
1 Hour, 55 Minutes

Based on a true story about a group of free spirited rock and roll enthusiasts, Pirate Radio tells the tail of an independent radio station broadcast across Europe against the wishes of the government.  It stars the likes of Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy, Chris O'Dowd, and Jack Davenport. For any rock and roll enthusiast, it's a must see film.

The film looks pretty average for a Blu-ray with crisp colors and deep blacks. Where it really shines is the audio. Being a film about rock and roll, music is quite an important factor and it does not disappoint.

Deleted Scenes, Featurettes, Commentary, BD-Live, and Pocket Blu.

The bonus features are really what makes the Blu-ray shine. The deleted scenes along are 50 minutes long and the featurettes add another 20, all in HD of course. Further enhancing the experience is something that has only recently been released; Pocket Blu. This feature allows you to download an app to your iPod Touch or iPhone (for free) and use it as a remote control. It also allows you to download special extras for the film as well which is a nice bonus. The feature works perfectly when tested and showed no problems whatsoever.

Pirate Radio is an excellent film and is even better on Blu-ray. There are tons of bonus features and film enhancements to give you a wonderful high definition experience. I would place this on anyones "must buy" list.
