Rush Hour 3

Rush Hour 3

In Theatres:
Aug 10, 2007
Running Time:
1 Hour, 30 Minutes

Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are back and this time their fighting the Chinese Triad in France and bringing the laughs.

Its undeniable that this is probably the funniest of the Rush Hour films but it is the worst when it comes to plot. It takes the whole idea of "Popcorn Film" to a level where suspending disbelief is a necessity. Fortunately there is only one scene in the entire film that feels extremely borrowed.  Think The Godfather meets Lethal Weapon. As for the rest of the film, hilarious. I never expected to laugh so hard during this film.

As a film it feels incomplete. Semi sized holes in the plot that leaves the film without any real sense of conclusion. There are also a lot of instances where even the humor seems very "Ratner". Awkward moments where the comedic dialogue is out of place and forced. Face shots of Chris Tucker spouting one liners to no end or doing his Michael Jackson impersonations. Still, there is so much comedy in the film and coming at you so fast you never really have time to criticize the bad.

Even though the film is shamefully and obviously cut short there is no doubt Rush Hour 3 will dominate at the box office. It really is worth seeing at least once or twice and there is no shame in enjoying it. Word of advice, stay for the blooper reel at the credits, hilarious.
