Running Time:
93 Minutes

Detective Eric Matthews is called into investigate a gruesome murder by what appears to be the Jigsaw killer.  Following up on a lead Matthews and his team enter Jigsaw’s liar. While there they uncover his biggest plan yet. There are eight people locked in a house that have been exposed to a deadly gas and have 2 hours to solve Jigsaw’s game and one of the victims is Matthews’ son. Now he will have to play the game too if he wants to save his child.

This sequel certainly follows the rules as it is done on a grander scale; there are more victims, more violence, more traps, and more blood. With that being said the majority of this movie feels weaker than its predecessor. The traps and blood feel like they were doing it all just to see how gory they can get. But the last 15-20 minutes is what made me love this movie. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and even if you guessed the ending before it happens you’ll still feel the need to see how it will happen. There is also commentary by the director, Donnie Wahlberg, and Beverley Mitchell, Jigsaw’s Game (a making of), Bits & Pieces (a look at the props mainly the nail bat), the traps (a look at how they were invented & why), and then the storyboards. If you found the first one fun, entertaining, and like gore you will certainly find this should be in your collection.
