Sin City (BLU-RAY)

Sin City

On Blu-Ray:
Tuesday, April 21, 2009
Running Time:
124 Minutes

First off Sin City comes with the restored theatrical version which has mostly commentary audio features and a bonus audio track which has audience reaction. The second disc which includes the Recut - Extended * Unrated Versions was a bit of a let down. This version of the film is separated by storylines in chronological order and play as stand alones with their own credit endings. Like some of you out there who thought maybe you were going to get a 147 minute version of the film complete your going to be a bit disappointed. The extended stand alones offer a bit more story but serve mostly as a bonus for hardcore fans. Chances are you’ll watch them once and stick with the theatrical cut.

I have to be honest here when I say that the films mostly black and white style detracts from the quality that Blu-Ray brings. The clarity is perfect and the scenes which do have color shine in beautiful crystal clear color but again, the black and white style does detract. Sound wise the audio is remarkably crisp and adds depth to your surround sound system in English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.

Kill Em’ Good Interactive Comic Book- (Blu-Ray exclusive), How It Went Down: Convincing Frank Miller To Make the Film, Hard Top With A Decent Engine: The Cars of Sin City, Booze, Broads, and Guns: The Props of Sin City, Special Guest Director Quentin Tarantino, Making the Monsters: Special Effects Make-Up, Trench Coats & Fishnets: Costumes of Sin City, Teaser and Theatrical Trailer, plus a slew of Robert Rodriguez features.
