Africa is home to many exotic creatures and the Great Rift, the landscape between the Red Sea and the Zambezi, features a diversity of wildlife like no other. This area stretches for four thousand miles and houses active volcanoes, vast lakes, and other landmasses that are unique to Africa's continent.

This documentary series is from BBC Earth, the same creators of Life, Galapagos, and Yellowstone, meaning that we can expect the same high quality and breathtaking visuals we've seen in the past. The show is split into three episodes, Fire, Water, and Grass; each with their own subject matter to explore.

As expected, the visuals are absolutely stunning, particularly the aerial shots. There are even some never-before-seen videos of rare species and volcanic events. If you're a nature lover, then you'll no doubt be enthralled for every minute of each episode.

None, although there is a feature called "Inside the Great Rift" after each episode that explores the making of one particular scene featured. It gives a more detailed look at how something was shot or what involvement was necessary to get a certain angle.

Overall, The Great Rift is another fantastic addition to the BBC Earth collection. It's not quite up to the same standards we've seen with Planet Earth or Life but fans will still become engrossed with Africa's Great Rift. Definitely check this one out on Blu-ray.
