Wedding Daze

Jason Biggs and Isla Fisher are two of the most unlikely people to get married to each other. At least, that’s what the set-up of this movie would have you believe. Both are somewhat unlucky in love, both come from families with weird quirks that are supposed to be funny and both are basically nice, decent human beings.

So in reality, they’re actually a lot alike and it kind of makes sense why they end up together. Which is basically a long way of saying that Wedding Daze has its moments, but in truth, it’s not that funny. To be fair, there were a couple of scenes where I laughed out loud and there were elements of a better film peeking through here and there. But ultimately, this one just felt like it was going through the motions, without getting emotionally invested in any of the characters. It’s one thing to have shock humor (of the sexual or gross-out kind), but it’s another to have that woven into a story of characters you already care about. The creators should take a lesson from the Judd Apatow school of filmmaking.

Though to be fair, I'm a fan of any role that Joe Pantoliano takes on, so this movie does have that in its favor.

Looks nice, good clear picture…too bad there’s not much to the movie itself.

The extra features include alternate and deleted scenes.

All in all, this isn’t a terrible movie, just one that’s sorta there. It exists, with a few laughs here and there and that’s about it.
