Wicked Tuna: North vs. South is a spinoff I guess you could call it off of the show Wicked Tuna also on National Geographic. I never watched the original but from what I got out of the first episode is that the style of fishing is different. In North vs. South the boats fish close to the surface of the water down south while up north they fish with nets.

Three boats from up north where Bluefin tuna season ends go down to the Outer Banks in North Carolina where it’s just starting out and it kind of ticks off the southern fishermen. Fishing season for Bluefin in the outer banks doesn’t stop after a set time but after so many are caught, about 26 tons.

While I never really was a fan of similar fishing shows this one I did kind of like and I was able to learn about how they fish in the outer banks. The only episode I was able to watch was the 1st where all of the fishermen are trying to get that first tuna that makes the biggest profit. If you like the original Wicked Tuna I see no reason why you wouldn’t also like North vs. South.
