Artist: Billy Burnette Album: Rock N Roll With It Label: Rock & Roll With It Tracks: 12 Type: LP Release Date: July 26, 2011 Discs: 1 Rating: ( )Grade: A+ Billy Burnette has a long standing history with music, having accompanied his father and uncle in their band The Rock and Roll Trio at the age of 3, released his first album at 11, and would later become a part of the touring band for Fleetwood Mac as well as having written a hit or two for them, all the while building his own legacy that would land him in the Rockabilly Hall of Fame. Today Billy is still going strong and it shows in his latest release, Rock N’ Roll With It. From the blaring rockabilly title track starting the album off to the bluesy Armed and Dangerous closing track Burnette’s experience and know how makes this an album that never skips a beat. Burnette’s voice is seasoned and fine tuned, his guitar skills are honed and natural, hitting every note with meaning and blending in perfectly with his capable backing band. If its country, rockabilly, rock, blues, or a honky tonk piano number the albums tempo is smooth transitioning between each with ease. Fans of Brian Setzer/Stray Cats, Jerry Lee Lewis, or Buddy Holly should get a real kick out of the album, or anyone interested in outlaw style country music. Just perfect, as one would expect from an artist that’s seen it all and done it all. Well worth checking out. Enjoy. Pictures/Covers: |
