Artist: Queen Ifrica Album: Montego Bay Genre: Reggae/Ska Label: Flames Production Inc. Tracks: 13 Type: LP Release Date: June 16, 2009 Rating: () Grade: C- Queen Ifrica has an interesting taste in music. The majority of her songs have a chanting/reggae vibe to them but if you actually listen to the lyrics, then you’re in for quite a surprise. It first hit me with her song, ‘Daddy.’ It talks about being sexually abused from her father. What makes it weird is the fact that it’s pair with relaxing and calm music so it’s quite surprising to hear these types of lyrics. Oh, and if once isn’t enough for you, the album also includes a Spanish version of it too. The rest of the album is alright. Sometimes it’s difficult to understand what she is saying due to her heavy accent but it’s fun to just listen to the soft tones in the background after all, who wants to hear her talk about her dad taking away her innocence? Not me I tell you…not me.
