Surprisingly at 54 years old Billy Idol looks great, puts on a great show, and can still perform his oldest hits as if he just penned them yesterday. In Super Overdrive you get some of his greatest hits including White Wedding, Flesh For Fantasy, Rebel Yell, and Eyes Without A Face plus new songs. Filmed at the Congress Theater in Chicago.

QUALITY:
When considering live performances in HD it needs to become a new standard that the fog machine must go. The opening couple of numbers from Idol, picture-wise, don’t hold up and its only after the set continued on and the fog cleared that I noticed it wasn’t the usual white fuzz that appears in some BD’s due to dark color, it was the fog. The picture is actually excellent once the room is totally cleared. Definition shows you every bead of sweat coming off the band and far off shots look fantastic capturing the stage and the audience. Sound was decent, not as great as I would have hoped for, but comes really close. The drums aren’t deep sounding, the guitar and bass intertwining instead of having an individual voice, and Idol’s voice does falter a bit on the lower tempo songs.
