Drop Zone is a Beverly Hills Cop meets Point Break meets Die Hard toss up with silly action, pretty bad acting, oh, and Gary Busey. Not one of Wesley Snipes best films and definitely not one of his best choreographed as far as fight scenes go. Still, pretty awesome Blu-Ray.
QUALITY:
Talk about an explosion of color. The picture is so sharp and vivid its simply mind blowing. For a film from 94, and one that wasn’t even all that great, Lionsgate does a fantastic job of making the picture look like your peeking at it through a window. There are some night scenes that are terrible and even one scene where Snipes is supposedly at a beachfront military training facility but due to the high definition picture being so good you can see the background is simply a screen the actors are walking in front of. Not perfect by all accounts but you get your money's worth. Sound quality (English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio) is perfect. Jets sounded as if they were landing in my living room and dialogue was crisp and clear even during extremely loud sections of the film. Well worth adding to your collection if you like bad action 90’s movies.
BONUS FEATURES:
Trailers. Hardly worth mentioning as few people count trailers as a bonus feature at all but at $14.99 (amazon) your getting a film with a pretty fantastic picture with excellent sound. I wouldn’t hold my breath on a special edition of this one so if your going to grab it might as well do it now. Enjoy.
