The Back-Up Plan marks Jennifer Lopez's film debut after a three year hiatus. Zoe (Lopez) is a single woman who isn't getting any younger and has decided that she wants a child. She decides to get artificially inseminated and on the same day, meets the charming Stan (Alex O'Loughlin). The two instantly fall for each other but Zoe wonders how she will be able to tell him that she's pregnant. It's your typical romantic comedy with a little twist.

QUALITY:
The film looks decent. Jennifer Lopez shines without question and New York is presented as the bustling city it's known for. There isn't much that really makes you gasp or feel like you're watching a Blu-ray though. It's good, but not great.

BD-Live has the typical previews and trailers you can download for other films along with some other outdated features for stuff unrelated to the film. movieIQ  lets you explore the behind-the-scenes aspects of the film while it's playing. Popups will appear when there's something of interest. If you already saw the film in theaters, this would be a good way to start.

Overall, The Back-Up Plan on Blu-ray was pretty average, just like the film itself. It's the same romantic comedy we've seen time and time again. Jennifer Lopez is quite the beauty but the rest of the film is the beast and devours the beauty the minute she walks on screen.
