Kern Williams is a huge fan of the comic book hero Veritas who battles the evil Nemisii. So it is a dream come true when Veritas somehow enters the real world and needs Kern to help him out. Kern with his best friend Mouse help Veritas out in earning money so he can visit his creator and discover why he has come to this world. Along the way though Veritas has to face off against Nemisii and save this world.

I was so very sad to see Sean Patrick Flanery in this movie. The comic book CGI effects are horrible. The story has lots of awkward moments where they didn’t edit well so you have actors standing around waiting until something happens. I think one of the worst parts for me has to be the fact that for most of the movie Veritas is dressed in these horrible “rapper” clothes.

Now if I try and look at the movie differently and from perhaps a kid’s perspective I can see some stuff that will amuse them, more so if they are boys. There are burping contests and comics some mild action, and jokes that only kids will laugh at. Have you ever seen “Bibleman”? I don’t know why but this movie sort of felt like that. The uniform for Veritas IMO is better than Bibleman’s. But the fact that Veritas can tell if someone is lying and how clean and safe most of the movie feels I could see it appealing to that crowd. As long as no one has an issue with Kern’s mom having been a teen when she had him and no father is in the picture.

So pretty much very limited audience, one that only kids will possibly enjoy, bad acting, bad effects, weak story, and low quality. Really I can’t wait for Boondock Saints 2 so I can see Sean Patrick Flanery in something I will enjoy watching.
