When a group of sorority sisters take a practical joke to far one of their sisters is murdered and the remaining sisters are forced to decide weather or not they want to ditch the body or go to the police. Deciding they’d rather not spend time behind bars they dump the body but 8 months later someone starts killing them and their friends off. Could it be the dead sorority sister or someone else?

As you can imagine this film has very little originality. Take a handful of women and pit them against a murderous maniac whose whittling their numbers down and knows their secret. Sadly the film has no plot to keep you going. Its just a cookie cutter cut out that is the foundation for the only thing that seems to matter in these types of films, murdering someone without doing it the same way twice. The dialogue in the film is almost as terrible as the paper thin plot. By the end of the film the actresses were spurting out random one liners, possibly the death note from the writers who suddenly realized that they were in fact in charge of rewriting something that’s been done before. I have to hand it to the cast though, they really put on the water works and did well with emoting fear. Aside from that don’t expect to see them on the red carpet due to an Oscar nod. Definitely not a film I would suggest spending your hard earned cash on or your precious time.

Definitely the best scary

Definitely the best scary movie of 2009! I was really impressed with the fact that it was not predictable. I have recommended this movie to people already!

Can you say...."I Know What You Did Last Summer"

This movie was scary but highly predictable!!! It was too much like "I Know What You Did Last Summer." It did have some moments when you would jump but again, it needs a newer storyline!!!

Not that impressed

Nothing new. Very predictable. I really didn't care for it that much.

how was it predictable?

how was it predictable?

Girls Gone Wild with a Plot

I'm not complaining, as I'm a male, but I'm sure the lady reviewers, well maybe most but not all, will give this a low rating because it wasn't anything special or out of the ordinary. Just your basic thriller.

This is not a good movie

I completely agree with the review on this one. It's all been done so many times before!! Nothing about this movie stands out at all. Nothing was scary and the comic end of it was the same old same old of punch lines. I guess all the good plots are already taken..

Best Horror Flick Of 2009? Um, NO!

It's the best horror flick of 2009 if you're not a horror fan. This was absolutely predictable! It's been done, not one original thing came out of it. Even some of the kill scenes have been in other movies.

Not the best but not bad either!

I really enjoyed this movie. Though it was not the best horror movie of 2009, it wasn't bad either. I have nothing to complain. It was a late night show and I didn't feel sleepy at all. I didn't even want to miss a single minute of it. Kept the audience at the edge of their seats. Kept them awake vs Informant which was the 6pm show, but God! everyone was yawning during and after the movie.

Girls just want to have fun, at any cost

I don't normally go to slasher-horror movies so I was suprised that I found myself enjoying this movie. There is a lot of gore, nudity, suspense and some mystery. There are also some comical moments and characters you love to hate and hope that they are the next to die. The mystery is trying to figure out who is the killer. Even though the plot is predictable you will probably like the movie.
Theta Pi - till we die

An ok movie

I enjoyed the movie because of the suspense. Not knowing who the killer was til the end was exciting. Some laughs (not sure why) and gory scenes. Overall one viewing is enough, though.

Entertaining for a Slasher Movie

Overall I enjoyed this movie...some gore and some laughs. Couldn't tell if it was supposed to be a comedy at times. Definitely a teen movie. Would have rented it then pay money for this one.

Avoid like the plague!

This movie was far from scary, good, entertaining, well directed...basically fill in the blank. Take the movies "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Scream" and put them in a blender and you have this movie. It was pretty predictable and poorly written. The kills were pretty bland too. Let's just say I'm glad I got the free screening tix from Shakefire otherwise I would have been sorely upset if I had paid money to see this.

It sucked bad

I am glad I saw it for free (screener). I would have been P.O'd if I had to pay to see that crap.
Some of the kills were cool (bottle through the head) and it had naked chicks, that the only good things i can say about it.

Just Ok

This is not the best movie i've ever seen nor the worst. The suspense kept it interesting however the off-beat humor was a bit annoying.

Only see it if it's free

I saw this via a screening and it was actually a lot better than I'd expected. Kinda funny, not completely predictable, suspenseful. Didn't particularly care for the wild partying and naked women but that was to be expected. The actors/actresses did a pretty good job. Overall I'd give it a C+. I wouldn't use my money to see this movie.

Predictable? Far from it!

This is a thriller/slasher flick in the same vein as Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, BUT this was FAR from predictable. If you base a movie on being predictable because you've seen commercials and know people die, well duh, of course this one is gonna have a high body count. But, you have no clue who's going to die, in what order, or how they're going to die. And no one has ANY idea going into the movie, or even halfway through, who the actual killer is. It's common sense that when a character is isolated or by themself in a dark area, there's a high percentage change they're gonna die in the next few moments. Duh. Of course, the screenwriters created characters that all have a reason for being suspect, that's part of the fun--figuring out the mystery as to why everyone is dying, and who's doing the killing. I rarely jump in movies like this, and it made me jump about 9-10 times. The filmmakers did a great job in that respect. Yes, there's some cheesy one-liners and humor to break up the tension of the killing spree, but this flick was 100% PURE entertainment. If you're a teenage guy, you'll love it bc of the abundance of female nudity. If you're a chick, you'll love it bc of the female heroism theme. Those of you who do reviews and said it was bland, or crap, or ya wouldn't pay to see something like this, let's see you write a kick@ss slasher/thriller flick and then come back so we can review yours and see how well ya did. Again, Sorority Row was pure entertainment at its best!

Not big on Horror flicks...

and most people who arent seemed to have like this movie. However, I thought it was HORRIBLE....can we say Scream+I know what you did last summer mixed + Jaw breaker = not a good idea. Im still confused on whether the blond chick's boyfriend killed anyone. The acting was horrible...the main girl not so bad...but Rumer Willis...really? You would think she would have more acting skills. I mean it did make me jump (tho i scare easily)... and it def made me laugh...not sure if that was the idea...

This movie sucked!

Seen it when it first came out and it was a big joke and I am so glad we got in to see this in the preview showing because I would have been mad if I would have had to pay money out for it.
