Dr. Jacob Hood is a genius biophysicist that the F.B.I. brought on to handle special cases. If it is odd, unusual, and uses some form of science Hood and his handler Rachel Young will be there. They take on everything from cloning to experimental surgeries on Autistic children to STD’s that make it appear teens are dead. Hood is always determined to find out what the cause is and put the right person behind bars.

There are so many shows like this out there that I can see why this got lost in the mix. The cases are somewhat interesting; but really that isn’t enough to draw you in. Hood’s almost detached personality and focus on the science behind everything puts a wedge between him and the viewers. For most of the season you are only given one other main character to try and form an attachment too, Rachel Young. And with that you have the same old career driven tough girl afraid to show her true emotions or let her guard down because that is a sign of weakness.

Their connection is eh, been there done that. Later in attempts to have some sort of romance going they bring in a woman from Hood’s past and let Young feel an attraction for a former agent; but they never develop into anything. Really I think that the biggest issue this show had was there was nothing unique to make it stand out from the others, no attribute that gave it a life of its own instead of being just another crime solving show.

There are no bonus features with this release. And to further its subpar nature the discs may not play in PC drives.
