Haruo Yoshikawa is in the dark about the family secret, that magical abilities run in the family, and also that his three sisters, all witches, use their powers to protect him while probably doing massive damage to him on their own with memory hammers across his head to make him forget. Things are going fine until a girl named Ayumi Mamiya, a witch herself whose been cast into the mortal realm after looking upon a cursed mirror, sets her sights on Haruo looking to unleash his dormant powers to save her own fading magic using any means necessary, but with three magical sisters it wont be easy. As more girls fall in love with average Haruo desperation makes for great slapstick and by the end of the show you’ll have laughed your head off.

Much like Tenchi Universe or UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie you’ve got your basic run of the mill student, that would be Haruo, who just so happens to have the admiration of almost all the girls he meets, girls with skills. Tempers flare between the girls but one thing they have in common is that they all want to protect Haruo much like Tenchi and Valkyrie’s Kazuto Tokino. Its competition from start to finish and a whole lot of weird but the show manages to keep a coherent enough storyline going while supplying endless amounts of laughter, don‘t expect the works of Miyazaki here. Definitely not your little brothers Pokemon. MagiKano has a rating of TV 14 for sexual innuendo and lite cussing and other such limits that get pushed by these types of shows. Is it offensive? Not really. Its all just for laughs and half the time its out of context but if your into this sort of anime you’ll know what your getting before you even throw this two disc set into your player. Its just a funny comedy that you can enjoy or forget. Bonus features include Textless Songs and trailers.
