THE AVENGERS EARTH’S MIGHTIEST HEROES VOLUME 4:
WHEN THE 9 REALMS FALL: Man, what a great way to end the show, with the last 5 episodes being packed with action, fights, and great writing for such intense stories. I’ve seen a lot of cartoons that try to have the shows follow a story line that leads to the end of the season but it’s usually for the last 2 or 3 episodes. Not with The Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, this show has nearly the last half of the show being that end plot line. Which I got to say, having Thor taken out, or at least as far as you can take out Thor, while having Loki doing evil deeds and getting away with it for longer than just one episode was a refreshing take on the show. This show is so good because it has such great writing. All the stories that thread through every episode, even storylines that go back to the start of the season 20+ episodes back, is used throughout the whole season. I also love how characters and places are brought up but are used for longer than just one episode and then forgotten. And continuing with the theme is the fact that the characters are fleshed out so well that they are a lot of fun to watch. Also the writers have made the show serious as well as funny makes me want to watch it more. I can’t say how funny it was watching the Hulk swim around in the Avengers pool and then getting upset about being left behind in the pool when a fight breaks out. The way the writers have used the characters on this animation, they show why these characters are such a great set of heroes. It also don’t hurt any that the artwork on this show is really crisp. I’ve seen a lot of these comic book based animations and so far this has to be one of the most impressive of them all and can’t wait to see the second season. |
