Everwood

After the death of his wife, Dr. Andrew Brown gives up his career as one of the top neurosurgeons in the world to move his family to Everwood, Colorado.  Having made lots of money in his previous line, Andy opens up a general family practice and offers his services to people for free.  That fairly well describes the plot of the pilot episode of Everwood.
