Kristen Stewart is no longer set to star in Focus, a Warner Bros. heist project being directed by Crazy, Stupid, Love helmers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. And as Stewart exits, the project could be landing a male star in Will Smith.

Focus is a two-hander about a con man who becomes romantically involved with a novice. He is then thrown off his game when the former flame shows up just as he’s staging an elaborate con in Buenos Aires.

Requa and Ficarra wrote the script with their Crazy, Stupid, Love stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in mind but when the actors were unavailable, moved to Ben Affleck and Stewart.

Affleck dropped out in December, causing a new search for a leading man. Sources say in recent weeks Stewart also quietly exited the project.

And now Smith is in talks to take the male lead. If a deal comes together, he would be back in business with Warners, which has been itching to work with the actor since 2007's I Am Legend.

The studio has courted him on several projects, including on an adaptation of DC Comics’ anti-hero space bounty hunter comic, Lobo.

The tale is semi-based on the author's trips across America, with fiction intertwining with reportedly real events and people met along the way. At the L.A. premiere Monday night, Phil said we should make a “bloody, giant monster movie.” But is there room for a musical number?

They're still releasing stills!

If you haven't seen the movie, spoilers ahead!!!

If you've seen the movie, you know there are some incredible changes to the ending scenes that are NOT in the book. I personally thought they were awesome and absolutely necessary for the film. Stephenie Meyer wrote a letter to address the changes to the film.

Hi everyone. I hope you’re all coming back from a really fabulous Thanksgiving weekend, full of quality family time, too much delicious food, and restful tryptophan comas.

Two weeks ago, while doing press for Breaking Dawn 2, there were a lot of questions I wasn’t able to answer because I didn’t want to spoil the ending for anyone. I promised in a couple of interviews that I would post the answer to a specific question on my website once everyone had had a chance to see the movie. Now, if there is anyone reading this who hasn’t had a chance to see BD2 yet and really wants to remain unspoiled, please stop reading now.

***spoilers ahead***

The question, which I got frequently, was how I felt about having a big change inserted into the story during the final climax. My answer was that it didn’t feel like such a huge departure. For me, this moment is already in the book. However, we don’t get to see it in all its exciting and gory detail because we are seeing the world only through Bella’s eyes. A few of the reporters I talked to wanted to know where in the book this moment was hidden. The answer is page 738, fourth paragraph down:

“Aro stared into my eyes for a long, tense moment. I had no idea what he was searching for, or what he found, but after he had measured me for that moment, something in his face changed, a faint shift in the set of his mouth and eyes, and I knew that Aro had made his decision.”

In this short analysis, after Bella has revealed the depth of her power, Aro plays out in his head the probable outcome of a battle with the Cullens. Much like what we see in the movie, Aro foresees a more evenly matched fight than he had expected, the loss of too many of his key players, and—most unacceptable—the likelihood of his own death. Though odds are that the Volturi would have come out on top in the end, Aro wouldn’t have lived to see it and the unassailable nature of the Volturi’s authority would have been broken, possibly forever. It is this vision of the future—though imperfect guesswork on his part—that motivates his retreat.

Melissa Rosenberg and I have both mentioned the fateful dinner we had (back during the filming of Eclipse) where we hashed out a way to make the end of Breaking Dawn more cinematic. This was the idea we latched on to—how do we make this vision of Aro’s into something the viewer can experience? The answer was pretty simple once we looked at it that way—we already had a character who could show us visions. So the only real change to the book ending of Breaking Dawn is that Alice enters the scene earlier, and comes in contact with Aro.

(Are there a few little trespasses against the mythology in this vision? Yes, as some of you have pointed out. The consensus was that a minor deviation from what had been established was forgivable in the name of entertainment. I had a few very elaborate solutions, but they were too confusing and not nearly as cinematic as the final product. And obviously, the result was very entertaining.)

A few reporters asked me if I would have done anything different in the battle if I had written it; the answer is yes. Mainly, I would have killed more Cullens. I do think the Volturi would have won the day; as the talented players were taken out, in the end it would be brute strength that would determine the victor, and the Volturi have more soldiers and more experience. Of course, if we had offed Edward or something, it might have been too obvious that it was a vision sequence. In the end, when the vision was revealed, the reaction I heard in the two unsuspecting audiences I viewed it with was nothing but relief and enthusiasm. Kudos to Bill C for creating the perfect emotional response! He plays our heartstrings like a virtuoso.

It was really something to get to spend a little time with the fans at the BD2 events, and to watch the movie at the premiere with so many of them. It was the best experience I’ve ever had at a Twilight movie, and a perfect conclusion to my personal Twilight experience. I hope you also enjoyed the movie, and each other, for this last big bang. You, the readers and viewers, are the ones who have made this whole ten-year experience into something unbelievable and amazing, and I thank you so much for it. I hope I get to see some of you again in March (shameless The Host plug), because it makes me too sad to think that my relationship with my readers is ending, too.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2

I admit; I was worried. Having read Breaking Dawn, I wondered how the finale could come across on screen. However when I heard that certain changes were being made, I became curious. Now having seen BD2 thrilled and satisfied. Twihards, you're in for a real treat!

BD2 opens with credits dripping red over the black and white lush moutains of the northwest and white credits still aganist various flushing and pulsing red images--beautiful, but menacing. As the credits end, Bella's brown eyes change to red as we get to explore the world with her through her new vampire senses. The smallest text is readily readable, she's stronger than Edward, and Jacob really does stink! Free from her human angst, Bella is much more enjoyable with her new powers and shines as a vampire.

Bella is finally able to hold the baby she died giving birth to, but Renesmee, showing teeth, already appears to be several months old. A human vampire hybrid is new territory for the Cullens and nothing like you've ever seen. A mix of babies, actual actresses, and CGI is used to create Renesmee's face through out the film and it can be unsettling to see. In a few months Renesmee appears to be several years old and communicates by projecting her thoughts into your mind through touch.

All is going well, Bella is enjoying being a newlywed and is slowly accepting the fact that Jacob has imprinted on Nessie (his nickname for Renesmee), which is some how made far less creepy in this half than in BD1. Jacob refuses to stay away, essentially becoming the family dog. They're one happy hybrid, vampire, shapeshifter family until Irina from the Denali clan sees Nessie and mistakes her for an immortal child.

Immortal children were once human children turned into vampires. Beautiful as cherubs, but still having the temperament of a child, they could not be trained nor restrained and thus were outlawd by the Volturi. Having lost her mother as a punishment for having created an immortal child, Irina runs to the Volturi to tell them of the Cullen's severe transgression. Hungry for vampires with power to increase their own, the Volturi grab onto Irina's tasty morsel of a story and head toward the tiny town of Forks.

To defend themsevles, Carlisle calls in his vampire friends from all over the world to be witnesses hoping their numbers will be enough to convince the Voltuir of Irina's mistake. Nearly thirty new vampires are introduced, at least half have powers ranging from control of the elements to being able to make you see what they want you to see. Whle training it's discovered Bella has her own power of her own. But can she learn to use it in time before the Volturi come for them?

BD2 doesn't lack the melodrama of the previous films, however, all performances have vastly improved. We get to see new emotions cross Kristen's face as a vampire that she never expressed as human Bella. Taylor is far less wooden and everyone seems to have handle on how to act around those golden contacts. In this way, BD2 almost feels entirely different from BD1. BD2 takes every opportunity for humor possible and the laughs hit with amazing accuracy. A scene between Jacob and Charlie had the audience swooning and howling all at the same time.

When the Volturi and Cullens finally meet on a snowy plain, the action scene that follows was so thrilling the audicence was gasping in shock and clapping through out the long scene. While I knew this had been added, what actually goes down had me in shock, arrested, and sitting on the edge of my seat with everyone else. This scene is EPIC. Even a non-fan I spoke to was completely enthralled.

The movie closes with an interaction between Edward & Bella that is the most tender and touching of the series. It lets you inside of their love like you're seeing it for the first time. The chemsitry between the two here is palpable.

Breaking Dawn Part 2 is a beautifully done and heartfelt goodbye to the saga & fans. The ending credits bring the books and the film together for a full circle feel that might make fans tear up. It's the ending the series deserves and with out a doubt the best film in the saga.

It's nearly here! Less than 24 hours till the end of the saga with Breaking Dawn Part 2's premier. I saw the movie last night and while I can't release details until tomorrow, I can tell you that BREAKING DAWN PT. 2 is THE BEST TWILIGHT MOVIE of the entire saga! Fans will be thrilled and others will be pleasantly surprised. If you thought of skipping this film don't make that mistake!
