In an attempt to unite to very different worlds, Jewish music and jazz, Paul Green brings us Music Coming Together. Virtuoso clarinetist Paul Green has arranged all of the pieces on this album to be performed by Two Worlds. Jazz music, although more obviously improvisational, draws some similarities to klezmer music. Green seamlessly melds the two together to form the inventive arrangements on this album.

HERO is a tribute to some of the people who have helped shape me into the person/musician I am today, my boss for many years, Beyoncè, my all time musical idol, Stevie Wonder, my musical mentor and one of the most inspiring musicians on the scene, Steve Wilson, and my saxophone hero, Sonny Rollins.

It features an incredible band that I’ve been together with since my Juilliard days; Mat Jodrell on trumpet, Mathis Picard on piano, Dan Chmielinski on bass, Roberto Giaquinto on drums, and Melanie Charles on vocal.

The music on this album comes straight from my heart; a combination of 8 original compositions and 4 "covers/standards" are inspired from experiences at Juilliard all the way to traveling the world time and time again, to living in Tuscany for a few months last year. I truly hope that it inspires/moves you in some way, and cultivates some good in the world.

Jacob Varmus left his hometown, San Francisco, in 1991 to go to the University of Iowa. Like many before him, he had high hopes of coming of age as a poet while cruising the vast American heartland. He saw language and experience as the tools to probe the deepest layers of the human psyche. In his first year he was admitted to the undergraduate writers' workshop where he studied with Jorie Graham. As he produced poems unremittingly and charted the labyrinthine maze of academic life as an English major, he also played trumpet devotedly, getting a good classical foundation with David Greenhoe. Although not set on a career in music he was nonetheless engrossed in the music of the great jazz trumpeters, Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis, to name a few. Chet Baker and Woody Shaw were also early favorites and of special import to his trumpet sound then and now.

Blue Muse, an enigma, is true to their name. They specialize in playing jazz in church, weaving spiritual improvisations through the waves of liturgy and biblical readings to any denomination. Formed in 2013, the members of Blue Muse are as eclectic as their music: a former computer consultant recruiting her professor, fellow Jacksonville University students and adjuncts as well as a baker’s apprentice. It is this sense of mystery and thoughtful collaboration that attributes to the diversified sound their fans love. Sarah Lee recognized each member’s passion for jazz as she worked with each musician while attending Jacksonville University on her own quest to follow her life’s passion, music.

(2-CD set) 'Live at Orion' was recorded during the simakDialog's 2013 tour culminating with the gig at Orion Studios in Baltimore. On these two discs the Indonesian band offers up their own brand of inspired and spirited music of extreme integrity which listens as much as it speaks. Composer and (Fender) Rhodes scholar, Riza Arshad, possesses one of the most capable sets of hands ever to grace a Fender Rhodes. His manipulation of this classic keyboard, whose warm and slightly rounded metallic voice has helped define modern jazz, brings out the very best it has to offer as he charts out new territories of sound. Arshad's wonderfully sophisticated compositions form the perfect armature for the musicians to flesh out the sound in a very organic way that compels the listener to deeply take it all in. 6-panel eco wallet packaging Tohpati's guitar work is the perfect dancing partner to Arshad's keys as he can lead or follow depending on the needs of each composition. His subtle atmospherics bring to mind David Torn, Terje Rypdal and Nels Cline, while his leadwork can possess both the fluidity of Holdsworth and the aggressiveness of Jeff Beck. Though there is no shortage of acrobatic axe-wielding on ""Live at Orion"", Tohpati's democratic interplay with Riza's -gorgeous Rhodes is the real star here - creating a powerful synergy that gives voice to the whole of the music over its parts. The rhythm section of Endang Ramdan and Erlan Suwardana, each on Sudanese kendang percussion, along with Cucu Kurnia on assorted metal percussion and the understated and convincing ""Bitches Brew"" funk groove of bassist Rudy Zulkarnaen,creates a formidable foundation of one of the most original and innovative progressive electric jazz artists today.

Coming out of Indonesia is a jazz guitarist by the name of Manaf and if you think that his music is going to be strictly Indonesian you would be completely wrong. This young guitarist plays jazz with what is the most popular sound for jazz while also giving his own take on it. Manaf is not playing around with this music while at the same time he is playing around with testing the boundaries of what jazz should sound like. This is a true fusion jazz album that goes a little beyond even fusion jazz where it becomes an experimental jazz fusion jazz. Maybe that sounds a little like the same thing, but when you hear the music played on the album you will realize that Manaf does play some experimental jazz, that's jazz, and it's jazz fusion.
