Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania marks the beginning of Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the second phase of its Multiverse Saga, and its plot will no doubt set the stage for where Marvel Studios intends to go for years to come. Disney’s latest trailer provides audiences with a good idea of its story as Scott Lang travels to the Quantum Realm and encounters Kang, played by Jonathan Majors, who offers Scott an enticing deal that will recover lost time between him and his daughter.
Kang is poised to be Marvel Studios’ next big bad of the MCU following Thanos. Majors first appeared in the role at the end of the Loki Season 1 finale under the guise of He Who Remains warning that multiple variants of himself are coming. The Kang we see in Quantumania is a vastly different version than we saw in Loki judging by the latest trailer, which says to “Witness the Beginning of a New Dynasty” in big, bold letters, no doubt a reference to the next big Avengers movie; Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in 2025. Everything appears to be on the line for Scott and his family in the Quantum Realm.
