Apple TV+ has released the full length trailer for Season 3 of their hit series Ted Lasso, and it showcases the growing rivalry between Jason Sudeikis’ Ted Lasso and Nick Mohammed’s Nate Shelley that will no doubt be the main focus this upcoming season.
In the first season, Nathan started out as the quiet and reserved kit man for AFC Richmond, but under Ted’s tutelage he learned how to voice his opinion and had some good ideas for the team, leading him to earn an assistant coach position. Season 2 saw him moving up in stature but also butting heads with his fellow coaches and players on more than one occasion. The Season 2 finale ended with the shocker that Nate had accepted a coaching position with West Ham. How everyone reacts to Nate’s departure from AFC Richmond will be explored in Season 3.
The new season will also see Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) step up as the new assistant coach to fill the position Nate left. Ted’s ongoing anxiety and panic attacks will continue to be explored as he faces new pressures, both on and off the pitch. Judging by the trailers song choice of The Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” not everyone is going to end up happy when all is said and done. We’ll just have to wait until Season 3 to find out who. Thankfully it won’t be too much longer.
Season 3 of Ted Lasso begins streaming on March 15 with new episodes added weekly.
