The Spider-Verse just got a whole lot bigger thanks to the latest trailer for Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The new trailer introduces the Spider Society, a multiversal team of Spider-People who protect its very existence.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse isn’t holding back on the whole Spider-Verse theme and is bringing seemingly every Spider-Man, woman, and even animal into the film. Of course we’ll have familiar faces returning including Peter B. Parker and Gwen Stacy, but there will be a whole lot more including Jessica Drew, Spider-Punk, and even Spider-Horse featured as part of the Spider Society. Together they’re all led by Miguel O’Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 who was featured in the end credits scene of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. As shown in the trailer, Miles Morales is brought to the Spider Society as a potential new member, but Miguel seems to have a “sacrifice a few to save the many” mentality when it comes to protecting the multiverse.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is scheduled for release on June 2, 2023. A third film titled Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has already been announced for release on March 29, 2024 as well.
