Sony has released the first trailer for The Equalizer 3, showcasing the film’s new international setting alongside Denzel Washington’s familiar vigilante justice.
The third and final film in the franchise sees Washington return as retired U.S. Marine and former DIA officer Robert McCall. The streets of Boston have now become the coasts of Italy as McCall looks to truly retire and enjoy the comforts of the country. Of course, all of that is short lived when he once again finds himself at war, this time confronting the Italian mafia who threaten the peace he strives for.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, The Equalizer 3 also stars Sonia Ben Ammar, Remo Girone, and Dakota Fanning, this being the first on-screen reunion for Fanning and Washington since 2004’s Man on Fire. The film is set for release in theaters on September 1, 2023.
