The first teaser trailer for the upcoming Smile 2 is here, and it brings with it a bunch of terrifying smiling faces. It’s no laughing matter as the horrific entity has found a new traumatic victim to latch onto, global pop sensation Skye Riley played by Naomi Scott. Can Skye succeed where the characters of the first film failed and break the curse once and for all? I guess we’ll find out in October when Smile 2 hits theaters.
Smile 2 also sees the return of Kyle Gallner who starred as Joel in the first film and was the last person in the chain to receive the curse. No doubt we’ll see how it works its way from Joel to Syke at the beginning of the sequel. I don’t have high hopes that Joel will make it out of this one alive, unfortunately. As you can see in the trailer below, Skye’s friend Lewis appears to already be “infected” before passing on the curse to her.
Smile writer and director Parker Finn returns for the sequel. Smile 2 also stars Lukas Gage and Rosemarie DeWitt. It will be released in theaters on October 18, 2024.
