Searchlight Pictures has released the first trailer for James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown, and we finally get our first good look at Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan. In the trailer, Chalamet sings Dylan’s “A Hard Rain’s A‐Gonna Fall” in character as we see his rise to fame in New York.
The film takes place in the 19690s and follows a 19-year-old Bob Dylan and his “meteoric rise as a folk singer to concert halls and the top of the charts – his songs and mystique becoming a worldwide sensation – culminating in his groundbreaking electric rock and roll performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.” A Complete Unknown also stars Elle Fanning as artist and Dylan’s girlfriend Sylvie Russo and Edward Norton as fellow musician Pete Seeger who helped Dylan get his first LP deal.
A Complete Unknown hits theaters this December and is sure to be a big awards contender this season for both Timothée Chalamet and James Mangold.
