Peter Parker is BACK and so is She-Hulk

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN COMICS:
I actually have something good to say that involves Spider-Man, Peter Parker will have more stories coming out. No, Marvel is not bringing him back where he will be alive again and in his own body, well not in the sense that it takes place in the current continuity of the comics. Instead there will be 5 issues of Amazing Spider-Man coming out starting in December 2013.

Each issue will have a numbering of #700.1, 700.2, and so on until 700.5. where the stories take place before Peter Parker was killed by Doc Ock. This is something that I am very excited about, getting Peter Parker back as the one true and only Spider-Man will be awesome (which right now in Marvel Knights Spider-Man #1 was just released October 2) but what I don't get is why give it the 700 numbering? If this is taking place before he dies then how can it be taking place as a 700 when he was no longer in control of his body in that issue. It don't matter, I'm just glad to be seeing Marvel bring back Peter Parker, now if only they get rid of Doc Ock.

I'm also pretty excited that She-Hulk is getting her own solo title again coming out February. It will be written by Charles Soule, who is a lawyer himself, and drawn by Javier Pulido who has drawn on Hawkeye. I read the other She-Hulk titles in the past and always enjoyed them because She-Hulk is a great character. She has the powers of Hulk, she's also a lawyer, and when written correctly she can be really funny. From what I've read about it, this new series will have Jennifer Walters doing more of her day job as a lawyer while also enjoying being a superhero. What I'm hoping for out of this title is more of her being a lawyer but with some wild cases that only she can or will take on. Everyone know she's She-Hulk, both public and superheroes, so it would be really cool to have stories where she has to take on cases for other heroes or maybe even get a villain as a case.

COMICS IN THE MOVIES AND TELEVISION:
Has anyone seen the new Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., yet? I've watched the first episode, I will be watching episode 2 this weekend (I've been told it's really good) but I have a small concern about the show. First off is Agent Coulson, yeah I'm glad he's back and better yet that Clark Gregg is once again in the role that he made cool. But what I don't like is how they just off handly explained his death/return. Not only that but it seems like they have them doing a lot of saying one thing and doing another. Such as continuing to say they are the good guys only looking to help people yet they still kidnapped Skye when she was in her van. So they didn't really do anything harmful to her but they still did kidnap her and had a bag on her head. That would freak me out. Just saying. The show seems to have a lot of potential though so I'm hoping that it will continue to grow and stay on for longer than one season.

UPCOMING TITLE THAT LOOKS PROMISING:

Batman #24
Release Date: Oct 9, 2013
Cover Price: $6.99 (yes that's the right price)
Written by: Scott Snyder
Drawn by: Danny Miki and Greg Capullo
Plot: It's a double sized issue (that explains the price but not why it is double sized) where Batman gets the origin of the Red Hood Gang.

BOOK TO READ THIS WEEK:

Marvel Knights Spider-Man #1
Release Date: Oct 2, 2013
Cover Price: $3.99
Written by: Matt Kindt
Drawn by: Marco Rudy
Plot: Peter Parker is back and he has to face 99 tests that if he fails will lead to his death. Just to let you know the artwork and writing in this is not the normal format used for comics. The whole page is being used while bleding in the art with itself as the narrative is being told. It's done very well and I enjoyed it a lot but it was something that I was not excpecting so that first page did surprise me.
