The time has come to say farewell to Will Forte, “Saturday Night Live” fans – the actor has announced that he won't be returning to NBC’s late-night sketch comedy show as it enters its 36th season this fall. “After eight great seasons, Will has made the decision to move on from SNL to pursue new opportunities,” Forte’s rep said. “He is eternally grateful to Lorne and all of the incredible people he worked with over the years.” Forte came into the "SNL" fold in 2002, creating a variety of memorable characters, not in the least MacGruber, whose story was turned into a feature film and released in May. NBC hasn’t issued an official statement, and the NYTimes reports that the network has declined to comment on any potential newbies coming on, as deals are expected to close after Labor Day. "SNL's" new season kicks off September 25 at 11:30 p.m. Show: Saturday Night Live Genre: Comedy Starring: Will Forte Network: NBC Airdate/Time: September 25, 2010 11:30pm |
