Kelly Ripa will stay in the Regis Philbin business after their time as co-hosts of Live With Regis and Kelly comes to an end.
Ripa is readying a special revolving around Philbin's career through Milojo Productions, her production company with actor husband Mark Consuelos, according to a source close to the production. Ripa will serve only as a producer on the special; Milojo is currently searching for creative directors for the special.
 
The project, which will likely air in primetime as an hour, 90 minutes or even two-hour special, will be a This Is Your Life-type look back at Philbin's life and career, a source told The Hollywood Reporter.
 
The news follows Philbin’s January announcement that he'd be leaving the weekday talker at the end of the summer. He has served as co-host of Live since 1983, which featured Kathie Lee Gifford as his original co-host.
