Is A&E's Duck Dynasty a new king in primetime?

On Wednesday, back-to-back episodes of the reality series about a multimillion-dollar duck-call company set records for A&E across all key demographics, ranking as the top cable series for the night.

The 10:30 p.m. episode outdrew the first, with an average of 4.4 million total viewers, including a record 2.6 million in 25-54 and 2.5 million in 18-49. The 10 p.m. episode also delivered big numbers, drawing 4.3 million total viewers with 2.5 million in adults 18-49 and 25-54.

The two Duck Dynasty episodes were the No. 1 (10:30 p.m.) and No. 2 (10 p.m.) cable telecasts on the night among adults 18-49, 25-54 and total viewers.

Even more notable, Duck Dynasty topped several broadcast competitors in its time slot among adults 18-49, including Chicago Fire and Nashville, as well as FX's American Horror Story.

Duck Dynasty is produced by Gurney Productions. Executive producers include Deirdre and Scott Gurney, David McKillop, Elaine Frontain Bryant and Lily Neumeyer.

Elsewhere on the dial Wednesday, Spike TV's Eddie Murphy: One Night Only -- airing from 10 p.m. to midnight -- was the most-watched (1.9 million) and highest-rated special for the network. A midnight encore added an additional 1 million viewers.

Discovery Channel's Moonshiners drew 2.23 million at 10 p.m. Wednesday and among adults 25-54 grabbed a 1.4 rating. The episode outdrew broadcast fare like Nashville and Chicago Fire among men 25-54.

TruTV's Hardcore Pawn also set records for its network, attracting its biggest audience ever with 3.1 million at 9 p.m. Tuesday for the season six premiere. Among adults 18-49 (1.4 million), Pawn ranked second among basic cable programming.
