10 Things I Hate About You: 10th Anniversary Edition

10 Things I Hate About You

On DVD:
Tuesday, January 5, 2010
Running Time:
97 minutes

Loved the movie, always have always will. It is one of those that I make a point to watch once a year, usually near the summer. I already own it on DVD but was excited to see a 10th Anniversary Edition. I was a little let down but what I got. There is a 35 minutes long bonus feature that has original interviews with the cast and new interviews now with the crew (NO CAST) talking about various portions of the movie. While the interviews take place you will get small glimpses at deleted scenes and behind the scene footage; but you are never given direct access to just those.

It does say on the back of the case that it does have deleted scenes; but look everywhere that I could including trying to find an Easter egg. There were no deleted scenes to be found except for the ones crammed into the other feature. Obviously they have the footage still since they were able to include it in this feature why not just put those on here as well.  The only other bonus feature on this release is commentary.

Granted both of these bonus features and the fact that it comes with a digital copy is of course more than the original release contained as it had only the trailer. Sadly though this release does not have the theatrical trailer opting instead to push the TV series.

It is not a horrible release and in fact it is one that I will probably replace my other copy with; but to be a 10th Anniversary Edition and to brag about having deleted scenes and tease showing you small bits of behind the scenes but never giving you an option to watch them on their own just seems cruel.
