I’m an absolute sucker for the type of music that Caro Emerald performs. One part Medeski, Martin and Wood (or is that three parts), a dash of Billy Holiday with a pinch of pop sensibility the likes of Kate Nash, Sondre Lerche, and Norah Jones. Add that all up and you’ve got quite the show. Caro Emerald Live In Concert is just that. One fantastic show.

PICTURE QUALITY:
Eagle Rock landed a gem with Caro Emerald Live On Concert. Not only is this a fantastic live music event it’s also one of the finer looking live BD’s you’re likely to come across. It’s eyebrow raising 1080i transfer delivers a much tougher punch then some 1080p discs. Color is monumentally vibrant, detail is acutely represented, and clarity is near immaculate. This release offers up one of those real immersive experience where, if you have a proper surround sound system, you may find yourself transported to the place and time of the this particular show. Most of the scenes look as if you could literally reach in and touch the stage. Simply amazing.

BONUS FEATURES:
~Rehearsal performances of Tangled Up & That Man
~Songs Not Seen During The Original Broadcast Of This Concert
~Interview With Caro Emerald. I particularly enjoyed this segment as Emerald talks about her younger years growing up in a musical house and not being able to find her instrument at first. A very down to Earth interview.
