Imagery is a Brazilian based Prog-Metal act that released their debut album The Inner Journey in 2012. That very album has finally hit our shores in 2013, and like the bands success in their home country, they will no doubt find equal success here in the states.

Imagery blew my mind right off the bat with an incisive percussion section, rapid succession guitar feats, and the newly added keyboardist of the band. The sound that the band ends up producing is a funk metal jazz fusion combination that leaves very little time to form an opinion other then this may very well be the best thing you’ve heard in awhile.

I was a bit disappointed with the vocals. The vocals are in English, but muddled by a slight accent. Even if they weren’t vocals sound distant compared to the onslaught of noise coming from the bands instrumental aspect. The band does supply lyrics in the liner notes, but until you’re ready to settle down and truly dive deep into the album, you will probably be preoccupied with just how awesome the guitars shred through every song, the keyboards fly through applicable tracks (sounding 8 bit at times), and the speed and precision of  the drums on this album bring it all together. This album is a long time coming but well worth the wait. Definitely put it on your must purchase list.
