Green (25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)

R.E.M. first formed in 1980 and they have released 15 albums in their long and storied musical career. It was not until their 6th studio album, “Green,” that the rest of the world started to actually take notice. “Green” was first released in 1988 and the first album R.E.M. created after their epic major label record deal with Warner Brothers Records. 25 years later, they remastered the original recordings and included several extras in the deluxe edition for their fans. Besides the remastered “Green” CD, they also included a CD of live concert performances from the Green World Tour, several postcards, and a poster. This is the perfect gift for any fans of R.E.M. or the “Green” album.

If you love Alternative music and have never heard the “Green” album, you are missing out. There are only 10 songs on the album, but R.E.M. made each one count and had so much emotion and meaning behind each song they chose. My favorite songs were “Stand,” “Get Up, and “Orange Crush” because they were so memorable and unlike any other songs during that time period. They are not only lyrical geniuses, but they are also musically talented as well. This album was so well done and deserved to capture the world’s attention because of the album’s uniqueness. If you love R.E.M. or alternative music, this set is a must-have for sure. For those reasons, I am giving the “Green: 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition” an “A.”
