Running In The Fog is an Electronic Pop type band that has a new EP out titled Silver. Over the past week I’ve had the opportunity to listen to the album in my car, in the house, even for a brief few seconds out on a jog (the music just wasn’t designed for that kind of activity). So how was it?

For my own personal taste, the album is a bit groggy. I found the electronic blips and beeps of the music to be a bit monotonous. While the music never really reaches any kind of tempo other then snail mode, singer Amanda Harper, though soulful at times, is lost in the electronic hum of the EP’s repetitious sounds.

The whole affair ended up being kind of too lax for my liking. Musically the EP never reaches a point of excitement and vocals lay across the music like rehearsal rather then a recording session. Each monotonous number kind of overlapping the other.

Harper’s vocals sound restrained, but at times her soulful and whimsical voice rises to the occasion. I think if the music were a bit more lively Harper could rise to the occasion instead of lurking along with the slow tempo of the album. In the end though, not really an album I see myself listening to in the future days to come. As always, final judgment is yours.
